The Geographic North Pole (or the Terrestrial North pole) is not the North Pole, but is the North Pole, accounting earth's 23 degree tilt. The North Pole is, unlike the South Pole, on almost permenantly frozen ice in the arctic ocean. During the summer the North Pole is always above the horizon and at the equinox it rises to it's maximum height of about 23.5 degrees. During the winter it is below the horizon.
